General notes for Monday 14th September:


·         Unit 23 Developing Voice for the Actor

·         Unit explained – what you need to do to pass this unit. Learn voice production techniques, breathing and diction. Present a warm up to your peers. Learn a poem or monologue and apply voice production techniques. Research into the Healthy Actor- nutrition, preparing for a role, do’s and don’ts and lifestyle choices

·         Intercostal Diaphragmatic breathing technique- how did you find this? How did pairs working impact on your ability to carry out the exercise?

·         Diction exercises

·         What have you learnt? Can you remember any of the technical terms? What did you struggle with?

 

Target – learn PAH TAH KAH exercise and blog about this lecture

 

·         Unit 1 Skills Development in Performing Arts

·         Explanation of Music Performance you are working towards in March 2016

·         Singing warm up including: breathing technique, scales- major and harmonic minor, arpeggio ( I am on top of the world) technical exercise – va va va va ve ve ve ve  etc

·         Learnt the round  ‘By The Waters of Babylon’- how easy was that for you, what did you struggle with?

·         Free and easy – opportunity for students to have a go at a song.

·         Use technical terms if you can remember any from the lecture
